History of the Tec-9 and Dating a Tec-9

If you haven’t figured out by now, I like firearms. Every firearm has something about them that is interesting (although I haven’t found that in Hi-Point yet). Anyway, I recently became the owner of an infamous Tec-9. That’s right: the firearm seen as a gangster gun, and one that frequently jams, and when it is firing, it’s very inaccurate. SCCY CPX-2 Guiderod and Spring Upgrade

By now it should be no secret that I am a fan of SCCY Industry’s CPX-2. It’s small enough to fit in a pocket, yet big enough to be intimidating. It holds 11 rounds of whatever 9mm you want to put in it (10+1), and all that can run you a street price of just $250. However, it may have its share of problems, but that’s what the no questions asked warranty is for. After that, there still are things that can be better. That’s what after market is for. Galloway Precision has all the goodies for the SCCY. A while back they sent me some Traction Grips for it, and now I have their upgraded guiderod and spring. According to Galloway Precision, this 20lb spring will help reduce felt recoil and muzzle flip over the standard 16lb one from the factory. There has been quite the talk about the DVG-1 not being available anywhere. There have been a number of people that are even blaming SCCY. I am in no way affiliated with SCCY, but I stand by them and their products. I decided to reach out to my contacts there and see about an official statement.
