History of the Tec-9 and Dating a Tec-9

If you haven’t figured out by now, I like firearms. Every firearm has something about them that is interesting (although I haven’t found that in Hi-Point yet). Anyway, I recently became the owner of an infamous Tec-9. That’s right: the firearm seen as a gangster gun, and one that frequently jams, and when it is firing, it’s very inaccurate. In short, I like mine! I have put hundreds of round through it with no problems. I had one failure to feed, but I was messing with the safety at that point, so it could have been user error. Accuracy was spot on at twenty feet. At forty, I was at least hitting the target. SCCY CPX-2 Guiderod and Spring Upgrade

By now it should be no secret that I am a fan of SCCY Industry’s CPX-2. It’s small enough to fit in a pocket, yet big enough to be intimidating. It holds 11 rounds of whatever 9mm you want to put in it (10+1), and all that can run you a street price of just $250. However, it may have its share of problems, but that’s what the no questions asked warranty is for. After that, there still are things that can be better. That’s what after market is for. Galloway Precision has all the goodies for the SCCY. A while back they sent me some Traction Grips for it, and now I have their upgraded guiderod and spring. According to Galloway Precision, this 20lb spring will help reduce felt recoil and muzzle flip over the standard 16lb one from the factory. There has been quite the talk about the DVG-1 not being available anywhere. There have been a number of people that are even blaming SCCY. I am in no way affiliated with SCCY, but I stand by them and their products. I decided to reach out to my contacts there and see about an official statement. First off, I don’t know if many of you have noticed, but we are in the middle of a pandemic at the moment. I do the social media for a gun shop in Orlando, Florida, and I can tell you that it has been madness. The moment that talks of lock downs were happening, EVERYONE ran to buy a firearm. Warranty Review - SCCY CPX-2

Just about anything these days come with a warranty. For most things, an industry standard is 30 day. On the 31 st day, something usually goes wrong. Firearms generally have a much longer warranty time period. Some offer lifetime warranties. Recently, many of my purchases have been geared toward which company offers a better warranty. Smith and Wesson offers one, but only for the lifetime of the gun under the original owner. Taurus offers one, but I hear they are harder to get a hold of. SCCY, also offer one. It’s probably the best. After you open the box your SCCY firearm came in, one of the first things you’ll see is a card advertising the “No Questions Asked” warranty for the life of the gun, not the owner.
